Richard Walters

Director

Richard is a Director of Broadgrove. He has both public and private sector experience and led Planning teams in large multi-disciplinary practices. Richard’s ability to quickly understand a clients’ aspirations and devise a bespoke strategy for delivery of schemes has been successful across a range of sectors and complex large scale proposals. These range from sports stadia, redevelopment of former steel works and colliery sites to residential and commercial schemes of all sizes. The priority is always to provide commercially focussed advice to unlock value.
Outside of work Richard spends time with his wife, two children and George the boxer dog, still attempting to play football twice a week and questioning why he has renewed his Everton season tickets again this year.

Andy McMullan

Director

Andy is a Director of Broadgrove. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and has an in depth knowledge and appreciation of how to advise and navigate clients through the complex planning process. Andy’s specialism lies in managing large scale, complex urban development proposals from the outset by devising the initial planning strategy through to successfully achieving commercially focused planning permissions.
Outside of work Andy enjoys working as a taxi driver to his kids, training for and struggling around half marathons and supporting Bolton Wanderers.

Jack Appleton

Associate

Jack is an Associate Planner at Broadgrove. He has over fourteen years’ experience of working in both public and private planning sectors. Jack has wide experience in all levels of private sector planning from the preparation of planning appraisals, development plan promotion through to submission of major planning applications and appeals. He is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Outside work Jack spends as much time as possible with his wife and young daughter but tries to make time to watch the occasional Crystal Palace game or get out for a run or a bike ride if it’s not raining

Connor Wigley

Senior Planner

Connor is a Senior Planner at Broadgrove. He has over five years’ experience working in private sector planning, having spent two years working for a large strategic land promoter in Cheshire prior to joining Broadgrove in August 2020. Connor has experience in identifying sites for residential development, completing in-depth planning appraisals, and forming strategies for the submission of sites, considering the backdrop of local policy. He is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Outside of work, Connor enjoys following his beloved Mansfield Town and playing and watching darts, so long as appearances on Channel 4’s Countdown do not get in the way.

Michael Parham

Graduate Planner

Mike is a Graduate Planning Consultant at Broadgrove. Prior to joining the team, Mike completed his MSc in Urban Planning at the University of Birmingham and graduated in 2020. He has particular interest in sustainable development, innovative architectural design, and redeveloping brownfield warehouse sites into mixed-use schemes. Mike is working towards his chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Outside of work, Mike plays hockey for Brooklands Hockey Club. He enjoys cycling and long-distance running but is often getting lost in the countryside which allows him to try his hand at orienteering.
