McConnell Chartered Surveyors is one of Northern Ireland’s oldest and most respected firms of property consultants, tracing it’s origins back to 1854 when the original firm of Ephraim Brown & Son opened in Belfast.

Over the years the firm has grown through mergers and acquisitions, to McConnell Chartered Surveyors in 2010.

McConnells is now amongst the largest Chartered Surveying practices in the Province.The current directors have a long track record of expertise in commercial agency, property management, rent collection, valuation, landlord & tenant and professional advisory work. They are supported by a dedicated team of property surveyors and administrative staff.

The company is owned by its directors, providing the independence to be flexible, and to make quick forward-thinking decisions that enable the provision of a continuing quality service for its clients.

We maintain close links with major UK and International surveying firms.

Our international association with Jones Lang LaSalle originated with King Sturge in 2000, and the firm is now the JLL Alliance Partner in Northern Ireland, working on major portfolio instructions and advising global multi-nationals.

Rory Clark

Director

Rory attended Leicester & Liverpool Polytechnics, where he qualified with a BSc in Estate Management, before returning to Belfast in 1983 to take up a position in McAuley Dickey, where he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1986.

In 1992 Rory acquired the commercial arm of that business and ran his own practice for several years, merging with McConnells in 1995.

He currently leads the professional team of McConnell Chartered Surveyors specialising in rent reviews and lease renewals acting for a variety of clients including Thales, Kwik Fit, TUI, Mapeley and Pizza Hut.

As an RICS Registered Valuer, Rory is responsible for the firm’s major valuation instructions from banks and other institutions.

Frazer Hood

Director

Frazer returned to Northern Ireland in 2000 having obtained his Estate Management degree in England, followed by 5 years working for one of the major London Surveying firms.

He then joined the Agency team within Brown McConnell Clark and now undertakes a wide range of commercial property related advice for the leasing and disposal of assets throughout Northern Ireland for a variety of private, corporate and public sector clients, including the NI Transport Holding Company; St Anne’s Cathedral and Linfield Properties Ltd.

Frazer, an RICS Registered Valuer also undertakes a variety of valuation work both of a residential and commercial nature.

Caroline McKillen

Director

Caroline obtained her honours degree in Estate Management at the University of Ulster in 1997. She joined McConnell Martin in the same year and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2000.

She advises on commercial agency instructions across Northern Ireland dealing with sales, lettings and acquisitions for a variety of clients.

In addition, Caroline is an RICS Registered Valuer and undertakes a range of valuation work as well as other professional instructions including rent reviews and lease renewals for both landlord and tenant.

Caroline also works alongside Fraser McConnell in his role as Managing Agent for The Crown Estate’s Marine Estate in Northern Ireland.

Fraser McConnell

Director

Fraser studied at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham and the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, where he qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management, Diploma in Land Use and Diploma in Industrial Studies.

A fifth generation “McConnell” and Chartered Surveyor with a Zoology degree, Fraser heads up the Property Management department, responsible for a team of 5 surveyors and 6 accounting staff, overseeing the management of a diverse and extensive client portfolio throughout the Province.

As the Managing Agent for The Crown Estate’s Marine Estate in Northern Ireland, Fraser has unique experience of all things tidal, including a broad variety of commercial, recreational, environmental and conservation matters.

He has regular dealings with marine based commercial operators, including ports, power stations, shellfishermen, marinas and yacht clubs, as well as statutory bodies including the coastal Councils, MCA, NIEA, NI Water and also conservation organisations such as RSPB, National Trust and WWT.
