A Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years broad-based experience in the UK Real Estate Market, Andy became a director of Stockport based Roberts and Roberts, before taking up a role as Head of Valuation at Edward Symmons, Manchester. Subsequently he set up a residential survey and valuation practice, followed by a move back into commercial property to deliver real estate consultancy throughout the UK and Ireland. Andy’s roles at Fairhurst Buckley include supporting and developing a busy valuation team, as well as offering lease advisory consultancy serving an expanding client base.

As a Director of Fairhurst Buckley, John leads the Building Consultancy team. Having been elected to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2004 and with 20 years-experience under his belt working in the commercial property market, John’s previous roles include senior positions in national property and real estate consultancies including Gerald Eve LLP, RLB, Anderton Gables, and Rapleys. John’s specialisms include building surveying, project management and dilapidations where he represented the Tenant on the landmark case of Grove Investment v Cape Building Products (claim in excess of £10million).

Having notched up over 35 years’ experience in the sector, David’s experience and knowledge of the local commercial property market is unrivalled. In 1995, he set up Buckley Commercial Property Agents, a business that soon became synonymous in providing straight-talking property advice and delivering excellence in service to a loyal client base throughout the South Manchester area. Following Buckley Commercial’s merger with national Chartered Surveyors and property management company Fairhurst Estates in March 2020, Fairhurst Buckley now provides a broad range of commercial property services. As well as fulfilling his director’s role, David heads up the Agency Team within the business and drives business development.

As head of lease advisory, Richard is also responsible for property management and rating. Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in October 1988, he is also a RICS Registered Valuer. Richard worked in private practice in Leeds before joining the property department of National Tyre Service Ltd (NTS) in Stockport in 1990 as an Estates Surveyor. Richard’s experience covers rent reviews, lease renewals, property management and rating throughout the UK. Richard specialism is in Roadside; as well as NTS, he has also acted for Halfords Autocare, Speedy Hire, Plumbase, Goodyear, Floors-2-Go, Bathwick Tyres and private clients throughout the UK.

Allen is an experienced Commercial Property Negotiator. He is very well connected in the local area having spent 13 years at Buckley Commercial along with positions at Northwest Development Agency, English Partnerships and Railtrack Property. With a BSc in Urban Land Economics and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Allen is well qualified to head up, and grow, the Commercial Property Management element of Fairhurst Buckley.

A highly experienced Chartered Building Surveyor, Dan’s emphasis at Fairhurst Buckley is on commercial, retail, and industrial properties although his qualifications and experience enable him to provide all general building surveying services. As an Associate Director of the company, he is responsible for supporting the growth of the Building Consultancy team.

Awarded a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying from Salford University and chartership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Dan is also a qualified Retrofit Coordinator and holds a level 3 certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment.

Senior Building Surveyor Emily, or Em as she is affectionately known, is responsible for delivering a wide range of projects and surveys in the Building Consultancy team.

Emily, who holds an MSc and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), joins from Manchester based Livingcity Group. Previous roles at UK wide agents Savills and more regionally with Bridgfords, has honed Em’s broad range of skills including in property management, estate agency and residential surveying. Her broad experience and recognised qualifications, place Emily in a perfect position to mentor and assist with the development of junior colleagues.

Away from the office Emily enjoys running and hiking with Jim – her favourite four-legged friend – and taking part in Park runs most weekends. She is currently trying to tick off a run for each letter of the alphabet. Although ambitious for her career, non-work-related aspirations may not always include Jim but do include a safari in Africa as well as a hike through Yellowstone or the Rocky Mountains.

And it’s a wonder Emily’s legs aren’t insured! She once danced the Jive in front of an audience of hundreds of people as part of a Strictly Come Dancing night in aid of St. Rocco’s Hospice – that’s definitely a 10 for Em from us!
