How Joining The CPN is Boosting Business and Expanding Horizons.
Tuckerman, a leading London-based commercial property advisor, has recently joined The Commercial Property Network (CPN). We caught up with their Managing Director, Mark Fisher, to discuss the decision behind joining the network and the benefits they’ve already experienced.
From PAI to CPN: A Fresh Opportunity
Mark first heard about The CPN in its former iteration as PAI. While the concept intrigued him, the London area was already covered, and the old website didn’t quite reflect the organisation’s potential. “I looked at the old website and thought it was clunky and didn’t really give a good impression of what the organisation was about, so I let the opportunity lie,” Mark explained.
However, things changed a few months ago when Piers Leigh from Curchod & Co reached out. “Piers got in touch and said that The CPN was looking for a new member to cover the London area, which re-sparked my interest. I looked at the new website with the updated branding, and it looked like exactly the kind of organisation we were looking for.” A meeting with Fergus Laird from Naylors Gavin Black at MIPIM sealed the deal. “His enthusiasm and energy for The CPN absolutely sealed the deal for me.”
Rapid ROI and Networking Benefits
Tuckerman quickly saw the tangible benefits of their membership. “We signed up really quickly after that, and within 48 hours, we got a call from Samantha Johnson at Vickery Holman asking if we could do a valuation for Curtis Banks,” Mark shared. Initially, he thought it might be a strategy to engage new members! But it wasn’t. “We had justified our membership fees in 48 hours, and because we work hard to turn around valuations quickly for Curtis Banks, we have continued to get a steady flow of valuation work.”
Understanding the reciprocal nature of networking, Mark has been proactive in engaging with The CPN community. “I’ve joined the Business Development Group and attended all the investment panel meetings. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the Cambridge City visit earlier this year, but I will be going next year. Five of us are also attending the conference in November, which we’re all looking forward to.”
A Trusted Network for Clients
One of the key benefits for Tuckerman has been the ability to refer clients to trusted partners outside of London. “We can now direct clients who need services outside of London to firms that we know and trust, confident in their ability and that they are best in class in their geographical area. Being able to tell clients they are part of our network is a huge benefit. It’s comforting to us, knowing that we are passing clients over to firms and individuals who share our skills, knowledge, and customer service.”
Exceeding Expectations
Mark admitted that his experiences with other networking groups have sometimes fallen short of expectations. “Often, they look great on paper, but the reality doesn’t live up to it. This has not been my experience with The CPN. It’s far exceeded my expectations. My partners and I are really enthusiastic about getting involved as much as we can, as we can see the benefits for our business and our clients.”
The Commercial Property Network is delighted to welcome Tuckerman as a member and looks forward to many more success stories as they collaborate with firms across the UK.
