Members from across The CPN network gathered in Edinburgh on 6/7 June for this year’s City Visit kindly hosted by FT Linden.

Day 1: TFT gave us excellent guided tours of the St James Quarter. We went behind the scenes, from the basement operations, to the roof top gardens of the residential developments, it was fascinating to hear about the challenges faced by the teams developing this £1b project and to see the immaculately finished development.

We then went on to the W Edinburgh (which we are told is currently filled with stunt men filming the new Superman movie), again we had tours from the W hotel team who ran us through the challenges of operating in such an unique setting, and we got to visit the rooftop bar with the best views in Edinburgh, well worth a visit if you are in town, but be sure to book.

Next we got to experience some true Scottish heritage at Johnnie Walker Princes Street where even the doubters were won over by the slick presentation and smooth cocktails.

Of course it wasn’t all fun — the networking, conversations, and connections have been second to none, we have a great team of over 36 members including some on their first City Visit which is great to see.

Finally on to a drinks reception and dinner, thanks to Buccleuch Property Group for kindly sponsoring the evening drinks reception at Le Di-Vin

Day 2: Our second day consisted of a leisurely breakfast followed by the most hilarious and inappropriate guided tour of the city by a wonderful comedian/tour guide who kept us entertained educated and sometimes aghast with his witty and knowledgeable content about the city.
